Sometimes your critical collaborators and partners are disguised as your neighbors.

I knew Joanne for many years before we became collaborators and business partners.

  • We worked together on defining guiding principles for our elementary school.
  • That work brought us together when we recognized that we have same values and beliefs.
  • Our talents and genius are complementary.

As we discussed potential collaboration, I learned more and more about her.

  • The adversity that she had overcome to become who she is today is inspiring.
  • In addition to being a wife and mother of two phenomenal daughters, she’s a very accomplished taekwondo athlete.
  • She represents USA in the master’s taekwondo championships.
  • In 2023 she brought home a gold medal from the World Championships in South Korea.
  •  This year, she got a Silver at Worlds in Taiwan 😊.

Sometimes the person who can transform your business has been living three blocks away the whole time.

Delegate Authority – Not Tasks

When the founder can’t let go

You know that moment when your team still asks permission for everything? “Can I send this email?” “Should we order supplies?”

You want to delegate. But here’s the thing – you’ve been giving out tasks, not authority. Your team does the work but still needs your approval for every decision.

Enter Jo’s talent & unique genius

Jo’s TUG Card helped us realize that the right role for her is acting as a Fractional Integrator for emerging teams.

Jo becomes part of their team as a Fractional Integrator. She’s the bridge person who can say, “Sarah, you own operations now”, and everyone actually believes it.

What happens:

  • She hands over real decision-making power, not just to-do items
  • She gives people permission to own their domain (and they step up)
  • She shows founders how to transfer authority without losing control

The result?

Companies that were stuck in approval hell suddenly hum.

  • People own outcomes, not just tasks
  • Decisions happen at the right level, by the right person

The founder finally gets to focus on CEO work instead of being the bottleneck for every choice.

And the team? They discover they don’t just want to do the work – they want to own it.

Use TUG Cards to Elevate Leadership

First – define the mission as clearly as possible.

Second – delegate the authority and accountability to the appropriate team and identify a leader.

Next – let them do the job.

Finally – facilitate After Action Review upon completion to learn and “loop-up.”
