Sasa and Kayla at a Crossfit Competition

CrossFit games season brings all kind of surprises and gifts.

  • Kayla and Laura played important roles in running the Northeast regionals for years.
  • Being a part of a team that supports an elite event like a CrossFit competition is special.

Kayla’s talent and unique genius is at the intersection of technology and leadership.

  • When we were re-building our business in 2018, it was Kayla that influenced us to adopt “Excellence through Leadership and Teamwork” as a guiding principle of Inspire Confidence Group.
  • Years later, it was Kayla that led our integration of Salesforce.
  • She did this while her husband was deployed overseas and she was caring for her three-year-old son, Chase, and newborn, Mia, on her own.

Every major system development or overhaul has Kayla’s fingerprints on it.

🧸 Teddy Bear NOT Grizzly Bear

The problem is – we have many similar talents, and we are passionate about both Leadership and Technology. This often results in conflict of ideas and opinions.

TUG Cards to the rescue. Having more than one view into each other’s natural abilities elevates our communication and relationship.

The bottom line: We learned to embrace conflict with the problem and not with each other.

We developed shortcuts that help us detach emotions in solving problems.

  • “Sometimes I need you to be a Teddy Bear 🧸 with feedback on a solution and not a Grizzly Bear” – Kayla.
  • Hearing that, I know to switch my response to be compassionate and still in pursuit of excellence.

Use TUG Cards to elevate your communication

Communication is a relationship.

Looking at the TUG Cards before and during a conversation will help suspend judgement and focus on the mission.

Create shortcuts as you solve issues – they help renew trust and move faster in execution – by not starting from the beginning, but from the latest milestone.

The bottom line: TUG Cards are about teamwork and winning together as a team.
